THE DIAMOND REALM
- OLIVER MARSDEN

STATEMENT
Heart Ego Gallery in collaboration with the Hilario Galguera Gallery, present Oliver Marsden's solo show entitled "The Diamond Realm", where the artist delves into previous bodies of work. Marsden's work represents possible cosmic models, or fragments of them, based on the balance between scientific precision and perceptual subjectivity.
Prototype I, II and III, are part of a series of geometric abstractions, which refers to the metaphysical paintings of Georgio de Chirico, where from perspective, steep and with color restrictions, a sense of temporality is established or anticipation, as well as an attempt to access veiled aspects of everyday reality through the pre-insertion of hermetic or unintelligible elements.
Sine Wave I and Harmonic Sine Wave, correspond to the forms of periodic oscillations of nature (sine waves), such as vibrations of simple sounds, such as that produced by a tuning fork. These wave patterns are frequently produced in nature by wind, light or sound and their shape has a direct correspondence with rhythm and time.
The circular paintings, on rhombic or square supports, are linked to the mandalic tradition of the two-dimensional representation of the universe, which therefore, symbolically can contain all the possibilities in a single instant of one-pointed attention. The title of the exhibition, "The diamond realm", alludes to the Buddhist tradition "Vajrayana", or way of the diamond, that maintains that the qualities of the mind are like those of a diamond and that it is possible to update them by means of methods and specific techniques, related, among other things, to the stability of the forehead.
The exhibition includes a selection of pieces that are the result of a long formal and interior investigation by Marsden through painting.
